Wim Hof Method Instructor Course is a scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The Wim Hof Method instructor course, also known as the Wim Hof Method academy, to become a certified Wim Hof Method instructor is a complete scam. The WHM company offer very little training, and the cost to maintain the license is extremely high. They favour a very small group of instructors who are friends to the family and limit what you can do or offer as an instructor.

Wim Hof Method Instructor Certification Course - AVOID

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Original review updated Jul 10, 2024

As a Wim Hof Method Instructor for nearly two years, I feel compelled to share my experience and insights.

Unfortunately, the WHM instructor training course falls far short of its promises and price tag. The content is virtually indistinguishable from freely available resources on YouTube or Wim's public videos, offering no proprietary knowledge or advanced techniques.

Essentially, you learn nothing new.

The course's primary focus lies in indoctrinating participants with strict branding guidelines, rules, and restrictions a clear indication that the priority is protecting the brand rather than empowering instructors.

This becomes evident through several key issues:

Financial Burden: The exorbitant initial cost is just the beginning. Instructors must pay an annual fee to retain their certification, plus a 10% commission on all earnings when using the mandatory WHM platform for events. Failure to use this platform results in severe limitations on promotion and branding, effectively forcing instructors into a constrained ecosystem.

Restrictive Practices: Instructors are prohibited from teaching other disciplines and face the threat of expulsion and loss of license if they do so. This narrow approach stifles personal growth and diversification.

Many experienced WHM instructors, such as Kasper van der Meulen, Jesse Coomer, Johannes Egberts, Bart Biermans, Bart Scholtissen, and Ferdinand Thor, have been banned from teaching the WHM for teaching other techniques and building their own businesses.

Lack of Support: There is no robust support system or community for instructors to improve their skills or address challenges.

This absence of guidance is particularly glaring given the low entry standards, which have led to a saturation of underprepared instructors.

Double Standards: Top-tier instructors and those close to the Hof family appear exempt from the stringent marketing rules imposed on lower-level instructors, creating a two-tiered system that breeds resentment. These select few are invited to expeditions and other events and promoted within the company.

False Expectations: Contrary to what many believe, becoming an instructor does not grant you access to Wim Hof himself. The promise of meeting the method's creator remains unfulfilled, adding to the overall sense of disappointment.

Organizational Shifts: Recent changes in the company's management structure have added uncertainty to the method's future and its instructors. These shifts have left many instructors feeling uncertain about the direction of the program they've invested in.

Unfair Competition: The WHM company allows their favored instructors to travel to countries where they are not official residents, potentially working illegally and taking clients and customers from local instructors.

This practice undermines the ability of the local instructors to build their businesses and serve their communities.

The WHM Instructor Training Course, in its current form, appears to be more focused on monetization than on creating a community of well-supported, knowledgeable instructors.

High costs, ongoing fees, strict limitations, and lack of substantive training or support make it an ill-advised investment.

I recommend exploring the wealth of free resources available online for those genuinely interested in the Wim Hof Method. The official course offers little beyond what you can learn independently while burdening you with financial obligations and restrictive rules that limit your potential growth as a practitioner and teacher.

In conclusion, after years as an instructor, I can confidently say that the Wim Hof Method Instructor Training Course is not worth the time, money, or restrictions it imposes.
